The Bakeman family commissioned Herrick & Salsbury Inc. to survey and divide a piece of land in Brooksville. Part of the property contained a beautiful sand beach that has historically been used by the community for recreational uses, including swimming, sunbathing, fishing, and kayaking. The beach, locally known as Bakeman Beach, would be given to the town. Before giving the beach to the town, a survey was needed to document the boundaries of the parcel. Working as a team with the Bakeman family and the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, Herrick & Salsbury Inc. completed the survey and the land is now owned by the town to secure future public access to the shore.
